Monte Ashcraft Obituary

THOMSON, Ga.- Mr. Monte G. Ashcraft Sr., 54, beloved husband of Mrs. Patricia Ashcraft, of Old Salem Road, died Wednesday, April 9, 2003, in the Medical College of Georgia Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2003, in the Thomson First Baptist Church with Dr. James C. Elder Jr. and Rev. Walter Pledger officiating. Burial will be in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens. Mr. Ashcraft was a native of California, but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was a Transportation Security Agent with the Department of Homeland Security. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Thomson First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Patricia P. Ashcraft, Thomson; his son, Monte Ashcraft Jr., Thomson; his father, Charles Taylor, Rockland California; four brothers, Charles Taylor Jr., Lulow Ken., Alfred Taylor, Grover City, Ohio, Richard Taylor, Sacromento Calif., and Terry Taylor, Rockland, Calif.; five sisters, Deborah Culbertson, Friday Harbor, Wash., Lori McIntosh, Bisalia, Calif., Dianne Carroll, Mesa, Ariz., Tammy Concorn, Woffin Height, Calif., and Valice Westberg, Penny Calif.; and two grandchildren. Pallbearers will be members of the Transportation Security Administration of the Homeland Security Department. Donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Capital Campaign or the Young Memorial United Methodist Church Youth Fund. Friends may call at the residence of Mrs. Nell Perry, Manassas Drive or at the Curtis Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday night at the funeral home.
