My mind knows you are in a better place, where there is no pain. You are at peace.
Mentally, I understand this, I only wish I could explain it to my heart.

I somehow feel our Lord provided you with "all you can eat" snow king crab legs & sweet potato pie. on this special day of celebration.....and how overjoyed when you were told you'd never have to eat krystal hamburges or pizza ever again

December 24, 2017

Sometimes I don't know if the tears I cry are for you or for myself...because now I must live without you

December 23, 2017

....Life is not the same without you. The sun still rises in the east and darkness falls at night but nothing now seems quite the same each day is not as bright. The birds still sing, the flowers grow, the breeze still whispers too, but it will never, ever be the same world without you. It's so sad that you had to go, your leaving caused so much pain but you are so very special and earth's loss is heaven's gain.

You were worth every single moment

Grieving is like having broken ribs...on the outside you look fine, but on the inside with every breath, it hurts

December 20, 2017

You don't get over it, you get through it. It doesn't get better, it gets different. Everyday, just like me, grief puts on a new face

Nate and I worked together for a time at the Uptown VA. Each helping the other when needed. Then Rehabilitation and Long Term Care split. We saw each other on occasion and shared memories as the VA morphed. Good bye my friend, may God's countenance shine upon you and may you rest in peace.

Nathaniel and I, too, along with Ronald Fisher, were on the first/charter (1970) line of 7 Omega Psi Phi brothers on the campus of Paine College. As the 7th brother on that line, he literally had (all of) our backs as the anchor for our journey. • God's richest blessings for the Family. Eternal heavenly rest in Omega Chapter peace...

Sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Mr. Nathaniel Brown at the VA and even after I transferred to another department, he always provided whatever assistance was needed (professionally and personally). I always thought of him each time I drive past St. Alban Church. Fond memories of such a nice person. God Bless!

It's just a "normal day" for Nate at the VA. He was spotted in the hallwayand a lady called to him saying she needed to ask a question regarding a veteran. Nate provided a detailed and lengthy response, stood for a moment and walked away. The lady looked at meand ask, "now was an answer in with all that mess?" I said, "he did answer you," and gave her the condenced version of Nate's answer. She sighed and said, "why couldn't he have just said that without adding on all that..." I smiled at her and told her I wish she could see her face at that moment..."you know he can't do that. He wants to throw out all the pieces of a verbal puzzle and see if you are able to pick out and interlock all the pieces -- that's his form of entertaining himself throughout the day -- when he walk away he even gets an additional laugh if your eyebrows begin to furrow and you cock your head to one side......just a normal day

Dear Dori and family,

My heart and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Mr. Brown was always such a kind and gentle man to me, my family, the Charlie Norwood VAMC staff and all Veterans with whom he connected.

I return from Japan on 12.6 and will not be able to attend the home going but know I will be there in spirit.

May God bless you with the pleasant memories of your father now and evermore.

Love, Erica
