Hoyt loved fishing. We went fishing a lot. I'll never forget our trip to Ben Lake Lake, where I caught a large shellcracker. Hoyt said he wanted to take it to show his neighbor, so I agreed. The next week Hoyt said his freezer knocked off and he lost everything in the freezer including my fish. Later that summer I took Hoyt, his father and other family members fishing. While loading the boat I found that Hoyt had actually had my fish mounted as I found lying in my boat seat. I will always remember that.

Hoyt was a fisherman in the greatest since of the word. He was one of my trainees who started a career with NC Farm Bureau. He did his field training with me in Murphy, NC and he always had a fishing pole in his car so he could fish every chance that was presented. He was a true gentleman and always had a story to tell. He will be missed by all who knew him. My condolences to the family. May Go Bless and comfort you in this time of sorrow.

Hoyt was a character I enjoyed getting to know him though some work together. He worked hard and was excellent at anything he set his mind to and one of those tough guys that that had all sweetness on the inside.
I wish love and solace in this time of loss and heartache for his family and hope that he's finally out on that boat up in heaven. He will be missed.

Hoyt and I were friends and co-workers for 30+ years. He was as an affable person as you would ever meet. He never met a stranger. He always greeted you with a smile on his face. To say he was a natural born storyteller is an understatement. Over the years we shared a lot of good times together including many fishing trips. Hoyt was a good friend and I will miss him.

Hoyt was a co-worker years ago in NC (NC Farm Bureau). We enjoyed the outdoors together away from work. Had alot of fun then. He always had great stories to tell and I believed them all. When work got tough, he was there to help. Wished we could have had more visits over the years. Thanks for the memories. My thoughts and prayers to Hoyt's loved ones.

Hoyt and I worked together years ago in NC. He was always there to help when work got tough. We enjoyed a few fishing adventures during those years - will never forget. He enjoyed the outdoors and I enjoyed hearing his stories. Hoyt always gave a word of encouragement when he knew you needed it. Thanks Hoyt. I'll miss you.....I will see you again sometime, in a far better place. My thoughts and prayers to Linda and all the Gregory family.

Can't put into words what I'm thinking. Hoyt was a wonderful, kind, caring, warm person when we were young. No mean in him. Such a good friend. His family all wonderful people that would give you the shirt off their back. So many good memories spent with Hoyt and his family. Always laughing and having a good time. Hoyt I look forward to catching up when we are both around the supper table of our Lord and Savior. My sincere condolences to Angie, Sally and most of all Evelyn. Much love to all of you.

I had the pleasure of working closely with Hoyt for several years and we had both deep and comical conversations over the those years.
He deeply loved his family.
I will always remember, every time he met me, he greeted me with a warm smile and a firm handshake. He will be missed.

I am saddened Hoyt did not have longer after work to do more of the things he enjoyed. Hoyt always kept everyone on their toes, a straight shooter, and a rugged persona with a heart of gold! It was a privilege to work with and get to know him

Hoyt ! I had the absolute pleasure of getting to know you and work along side you for the last 10 years at Ga Farm Bureau. You have made me laugh with all of your stories and you taught me so much when I was a newbie to SIU. You will be missed so much and we will think about you often.

Hoyt was a great friend and co-worker, one of the most intelligent people I have known. He was kind hearted, always good for a laugh and very devoted to his family. Hoyt kept us on our toes as he was always full of surprises and far fetched stories. He will be greatly missed. My most heartfelt condolences to Linda and all the family.
