After knowing Dick Fox for numerous years we send our deepest sympathy and condolences. He was a one of a kind. He always had a smile on his face that was infectious, and a serious but funny saying that would make your day, even if you were having a bad one. You never knew he ever had a bad day because he always said with a smile on his face "one day you'll learn that every day is a good day, now let me buy you a cup of coffee," which was one of many phrases to lift you up and let you know there's always a positive way to look at things. It was these types of things that made him one of a kind. There's so much you can say about this man. It wasn't just a pleasure knowing him but an honor. To the Fox family and all the employees of Fox Appliance, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Ginger, Stan & Families: Dick and Virginia were so very helpful to me when I covered the rowing regatta. At any given time when there was an event on the river, or the Augusta Canal, there was Dick. His enthusiasn was unlimited. I was stunned to learn he had lung cancer. You'd never know he was ill by looking at him or talking with him. I consider it a privilege to have known both your parents. Dick was our neighbor as long as we lived at Waters Edge (21 years). He was a fine gentelman and reading all the wonderful things about him only confirmes our thoughts. A fine person, friend, and involved citizen. He was all these things and more. Yes, we are going to miss him very much. Our condolences to his family, friends, and Augustians who knew him. We are all in the same boat missing this joyful man.

Dick Fox was a true inspriration to so many of us. His dedication to improve downtown Augusta and the waters of Savannah River will always be remembered. I will always remember his support of a little Rowing Team from Augusta College that he helped so much. I have many fond memories of him on his boat steering and shining lights out into the river for us to practice (FP telling us what to do of course). And I could never forget our first boat " The Virginia Fox". The "womens light weight crew" will never forget all that he did for us.
Thanks for everthing you have done.

Dick was the consumate true Southern gentleman and a legacy asset to the Augusta community. Back in the mid-1980's he was instrumental in helping all 3 of the Savannah River water events get started.
His energy, wit, and can-do spirit exemplified his life. Augusta is the better for his life and he will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to his family.
