MILLEN, Ga. - Robert Henry Fields, Jr., 79, of 809 Belcher Circle, died Sunday, September 25, 2016 at his residence following an extended illness. A native of Jenkins County, he was President and Co-Owner of Crowe - Fields Funeral Home, where he was associated for over 64 years. He was a member of Millen Baptist Church, Millen Lions Club and Screven Lodge #248. He served as Mayor of the City of Millen and was County Coroner for a number of years. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Millen Cemetery with Dr. Maurice Crowder and Rev. Mike Dann officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Crowe - Fields Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ellen McLean Fields; three sons, Robert H. "Bob" Fields III (Janet), Timothy J. Fields (Kellie) of Millen and Jason B. Fields (Inger) of Alpharetta; six grandchildren, Brett Fields of Los Angeles, CA, Brian (Daryn) Fields and Dillon Fields of Millen, Megan (Michael) Baradine of Norcross, Harrison and Abby Fields of Alpharetta; a brother, R. Wayne Fields (Carolyn) of Millen, two sisters, Ruth F. Johnson (James) of Barnwell, SC and Norma F. Herndon (Marvin) of Millen. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Erin Rebekah Fields.
