HEPHZIBAH, Ga. - Robert Elliott Morris, 75, entered into rest Friday, November 11, 2016, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors with Pastor David Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Hephzibah-Vance Cemetery, Hephzibah, GA. Mr. Morris, a native of New York state, served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was the former Fire Chief of the Hephzibah Fire Department where he worked for 28 years. He also worked for the Hephzibah Water Department. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Austin Beasley, and his stepdaughter, Tabitha Slater. He is survived by his daughters, Sheila Cauley (Trevier), of Hephzibah, Cindy Morris, Debbie Morris, and Patti Morris; his brother, Wayne Morris; his stepchildren, Roxanne Cannon (Arty), of Savannah, Keith Slater, of Augusta, and Terry Malone, of California; his grandchildren, Megan Luckey (Mikko), Brandi Sette (David), and Michael Beasley; and seven great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Robert Buchwitz, Matthew Mercer, Richard Marcano, Brian Tucker, James John, Joshua Heyward, and Everette Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Williams, Rogers James, Eddie Dobbs, Tutt James, Paul Williams, John Buchwitz, and Nick Delaigle. The family will receive friends Monday, November 14, 2016, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
