Ruby Cliatt Obituary
GROVETOWN, Ga. - Entered into rest Tuesday, January 15, 2013, Mrs. Ruby S. Cliatt, 92, wife of the late Edward L. (Tom) Cliatt. Mrs. Cliatt was born in Columbia County and has lived there all her life. She was a member of Clifford Memorial Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Cliatt enjoyed spending time and taking care of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Family members include parents: the late Nellie Morris Snellings and John R. Snellings; daughters: Elizabeth A. Maddox (Osborne) of Grovetown, Edna C. Gaskill (Walter E.) of Harlem; grandchildren: Sylvia Martin (Robert) of Grovetown, Cheryl Maddox (Ronald) of Grovetown, Denise Thacker (Lin) of Grovetown, Edward Gaskill (Elisha) of Grovetown, Evan Gaskill (Tammy) of Harlem; 10 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Brian Martin and Rev. Richard W. Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. In lieu of flowers charitable donations, if so desired, may be made to Emory University, 201 Dowman Dr., Atlanta, GA 30322 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907 (706) 364-8484. Elizabeth, Edna, Slyvia and Cheryl, I'm so sorry to hear of Aunt Ruby's passing. I know she is now with her heavenly Father and Uncle Tom. She was a beautiful Southern Lady inside and out. I was so glad I got to see her at the Anniversary Dinner. She remember taking care of me when I was a baby when Mama had to stay at the hospital with Janice for a long time.
