Ryan Day Obituary

BATESBURG, S.C. - Our beautiful son, Sean Ryan Day, 21, passed away on the night of April 26, 2016. Ryan is survived by his mother and father, Shannon and Mark Day; sister, Alyson Day; grandparents, Arlene Day and Jim and Donna Davis, and Terri McBride; great-grandmother, Janette C. Kelly; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly. Ryan's funeral will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Barr-Price Funeral Home, 256 Main Street, Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. He was predeceased by his Grandfathers, James L. Day, and David E. McBride. In life, Ryan lived quietly and unassumingly. He was a 2013 graduate of B-L High School and amazing percussionist for the B-L Panther Band, which won the State Championships three years in a row. He was employed with Shaw Industries of Aiken, SC. His love for video gaming provided him with a clan of friends and strangers who shared his love for the game and will honor his competitive spirit for years to come. Ryan finally is at rest and we hold him close within us. Please hold him close, as we do, in your mind and your spirit. And let us find the courage within ourselves and those gifts that make each day a day to celebrate his life, his legacy and the indescribable mystery and extraordinary beauty of this simple human heart. Memorials may be made to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, 530 Knox Abbott Dr., Suite A, Cayce SC 29033 or Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 W Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605.
