Sandra Cheeks Obituary

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Miss Sandra L. Cheeks of Augusta, Georgia entered into eternal rest Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Trinity Hospital following a lengthy illness. Sandra was a 1999 graduate of Westside High School and attended Valdosta State University and Georgia State University. She enjoyed life and had an adventurous spirit. Sandra loved people and never met a stranger. Sandra was the daughter of Dr. Eddie R. Cheeks (the late Barbara M. Cheeks) and Monique K. Cheeks, the sister of Dr. Brittany Cheeks-Duncan of Newnan, Georgia, Mr. Brandon E. Cheeks of Sandy Springs, Georgia, Miss Ashley B. Cheeks, of Augusta, Georgia, sister-in-law of Mr. Douglas Duncan, the aunt of Miss Avery Elise Duncan, both of Newnan, Georgia and step-granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Phinazee of Waynesboro, Georgia. Her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Henry Edward Cheeks and her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Moody, preceded Sandra in death. Sandra will be greatly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched during the 33 years God granted her on this Earth. However, death cannot destroy precious memories and she shall live in the hearts of her loved ones. Sandra has finished life's journey and is now at peace and resting in paradise. The family has planned a private memorial service, but will receive friends and well-wishers Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 from 3pm until 6pm in the Wallace House at the Augusta Country Club, 655 Milledge Road, Augusta, GA 30904. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Legacy Foundation Inc. (TIN 58-2394537) to support the Sandra L. Cheeks Memorial Fund for Lupus Research. Contributions may be mailed to the NLF at 85 Conifer Circle, Augusta, GA 30909. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Phinazee and Son Funeral Directors, 404 W.
