Virginia Koerber Obituary

GROVETOWN, Ga. Funeral services for Virginia Jenny Juanita Koerber, 79, a Godly woman, who went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 26, 2012, will be conducted on Friday, June 29, 2012, at 2:00 PM from the Bellevue Baptist Church of Grovetown, with Minister Brian Martin officiating. Jenny was born the twelfth of thirteen children to the late Benjamin Harrison and Maggie Ayers Yates, on April 10, 1933, in Elkhorn, West Virginia, having made Grovetown her home for the past 38 years. Her love of Jesus spilled over to those she met; encouraging and uplifting all who were blessed to know her. Jenny was a member of the Bellevue Baptist Church of Grovetown. She was a retired Rural Letter Carrier Associate for the U.S. Postal Service, having served in Evans, South Augusta and Grovetown. She was preceded in death by three husbands, seven sisters, three brothers, her beloved son Mark Walls and grandson, Jeffrey Church. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Joetta Church (Warren) of Thomson and Janet Travis (David) of Edgefield, SC; two sons and daughters-in-law, C.L. Walls (Sue) of Oceana, West Virginia and David Edwards, Sr. of Martinez and Kathy Walls of Oceana, West Virginia; two brothers, Gene Yates, Augusta and Elmer Yates of Sierra Vista, Arizona; eight grandchildren, Melissa, Patrick and Erica Walls, Jessica Toler, Elizabeth Lopez, David Edwards, Jr., Summer and Nathan Travis and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Frank Pileggi, Jr., Martin Delgenio, John Moore, Virgil Wilkerson and her nephews Jay Yates and Ray Yates. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Adult Sunday School Class of Bellevue Baptist Church. The family expresses appreciation to Dr. Mark Keaton and staff of Oncology Associates of Augusta for their loving kindness and care for their mother and special thanks to Heather and Cozey. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM at Starling Funeral Home, Hwy. 78, Harlem, Ga.
