Nancy, Ken, Jed, Mike, Tom
I only recently heard of Bill's passing. The Congressional campaign that Bill ran was the most fun, and least successful, enterprise I have ever been involved with. Bill had an irrepressible spirit and inexhaustible enjoyment of life. It was a gift for me to know him, and to meet all of you, and I'll never forget him. I wish you consolation in a sad holiday seaso.

I cannot believe this news I have just heard about Bill's passing... Babysitting in your house was such a joy! Never a dull moment and Bill just seemed so amused and amazed by all of you--and showed it with his easy smile and twinkly eyes! If I was lucky I got a ride home in his bronze Mustang convertible! Sending you all healing energy and much love...

I am truly sorry for your loss. I worked with Bill when he was part of Richardson, Troubh & Heisler. I was the office clerk & then worked in the billing dept. Bill was nothing but kind to me for those 10 years and always gave me the warmest of greetings here at Eyecare & Eyewear when he came in for his exam. I know that he is missed already by so many. He touched so many lives in such a positive way. I know he loved his Seadogs as do so many of us. I will always think about him whenever I go to, or by, that ballpark for the rest of my life. Lets us all celebrate his wonderful life and the wonderful man who truly loved and lived that life!! Very sincerely,
Bill & Janice Baker(Lewiston, Maine)

We were very sorry to learn of Bill's passing. We fondly recall the times when our son Chris played on Portland High's hockey teams with Ken, Jed and Mike, and working with Nancy and Bill on the Booster Club. Bill's guidance with the Club fostered wonderful bonds with many hockey parents. Our deepest sympathies to each of you.

I am very sorry for your loss. When I was a young mother struggling financially Mr. Troubh helped me with some legal paperwork to benefit my daughter. He would not take payment and I have never forgotten his kindness. He attended UMO with my father, who also remembers him fondly. May your happy memories help you find peace in his passing.

To the Troubh family: Bill was a giant of a person, a true leader and visionary who never lost touch with real people and real issues. As an inexperienced lawyer I had one of my first cases against Bill when he was representing the Maine State Troopers. I can't remember who prevailed (probably Bill), but I was lastingly grateful for and impressed by Bill's kindness and graciousness to me even as he took total command of the forum. Bill used his intellect and warmth to accomplish big things for others and will remain an inspiration to the rest of us. No doubt his contributions to the legal profession and to the quality of life in Maine are only outweighed by those to you as his family. May Bill's full life and lasting legacy be a comfort to you now.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of such a gentlemen and civic leader as Bill Troubh. In my years in Portland he was always a voice of reason and civic commitment that was respected by everyone. Portland Maine is a better place today because Bill was a part of its history. And all of us who knew him are better because of his presence in our lives.

Nancy & Sons, My deepest and most heartfelt sympathies. I was absolutely grief stricken to hear of Bill's passing. He has meant so very much to me these past 30 years. I have always thought of him as a second father, guiding me with advice and wisdom. I am beyond thankful that he was able to perform our wedding ceremony just a few days prior to his passing. I will miss him dearly.

To Bill's family - I am deeply saddened by Bill's passing and your loss. I first met Bill when I was a young Trooper and he began working with us to form the Maine State Tooper's Association. His tireless efforts were invaluable and everyone who wears, or has worn, a State Police uniform owes Bill a huge debt of gratitude. He attended our Retiree's Dinner last spring and was warmly welcomed by all, and it was good to see him so happy. He will be missed by all, they did not come any better than Bill.

I first met Billy Troubh when I was an intern in John Menario's office. I remember that he was part of a group of more " progressive" politicians that supported John's efforts to turn Portland into a "Model City" and Billy was one with great vision and articulate leadership. As a young student, he was one to whom I looked as a an example of a true public servant and gentleman. Guys like him don't come along very often; they are priceless while they're with us; and leave a terrible void when they leave us.
God Bless

Dear Nancy, Ken, Jed, Mikael, and Tom,
Alan and I are in shock, so it is hard to know what to say. We have so many wonderful memories of happy times our families shared, way back in the early years as each of you were being born, and then moving through the school years. It seems like just yesterday. Your dad/husband was a very special man, and may the pride and joy he brought to your family comfort you in these very difficult times. Our love and special thoughts are with you, despite the thousands of miles that separate us... Betsy and Alan

To the Troub family,
I am very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I had the utmost respect for Bill as a person and professional and always enjoyed seeing him and catching up. Personally, he had that special combination of being friendly, smart, humorous, engaging and making you feel good. In my business dealings w/ him, I always had so much confidence in his analysis of situations and how he knew how to get deals done. We are both from Portland and even though he knew my extended family, I didn't get to know him until the mid 90's. We developed a great friendship. I really enjoyed him and found him to be a wonderful guy. I, like many, will miss him.
My condolances,
Dave Littlefield

Nancy: Though I haven't seen you or Bill for at least 25 years, my memories will last for the rest of my life. What a guy. I'm so sad that you, your children and our community have lost him. You were such a happy, wonderful couple. He knew tons about Portland and sports, which made him a reporter's dream of a source. I admire(d) you both and will always smile when I think of you, with one particular picture in mind: Talking and laughing together from different rows at the Maine Mariners games. You were always a treat to run into around town. Thinking of you ... and Bill. I'm so sorry, Nancy.
