Zach McNeal Obituary

DEARING, Ga. - Zachary Gordon McNeal, born October 8, 1986 in Tucson, Arizona, went to be with the Lord on December 14, 2014. He was a 2006 graduate of Thomson High School and Manager of the 2002 State Championship Team. He was a big sports fan who loved cheering on his Thomson Bulldogs and UGA Dawgs. Zach overcame several medical challenges and always managed to keep others smiling. He helped create a unique family club, "the Sweat Brothers", where he continued to show his love for the men in his family. If Zach could have made it happen, the Titanic would have been rebuilt here in Dearing (if you were on the list consider yourself lucky). He was loved and will be missed greatly by his mother, Teresa McNeal- O'Neill; sisters, Katie McNeal, Grace O'Neill; and brother, Connor O'Neill; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and especially his friends at the Home Place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 o'clock a.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Thomson, GA with Fr. Stephen Lyness, P P as Celebrant. The rosary will be held at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2014 and the family will receive friends following the rosary at the funeral home. It is the family's request that memorial contributions may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation, 1120 15th Street, Room BI 3078, Augusta, GA 30912 in Zach's name. Beggs Funeral Home, 799 Cobbham Rd., Thomson, GA, is in charge.

Teresa, I can't imagine your grief. Zac brought so many good memories, my favorite was he wanted to build you a Cinderella Castle. I am praying for you and your family's peace. Much love! Janice Johnson
