Beatrice Connor

1918 - 2016

Bea passed away at Mercy Center on March 4, 2016 just short of her 98th birthday. She was born in Aurora, Illinois on April 10, 1918 to Gertrude and Theodore Walt and was one of five children. Bea attended St Nicholas grade school, Madonna High School and East Aurora High School. Bea was married to Roy Connor for 65 years before he passed in 2005. Roy served as a B24 bomber pilot during World War II. He flew 50 missions over Germany while stationed in Italy. During the war years she followed Roy throughout the United States while he was in training and after his departure for Italy worked at Thor Power Tool in Aurora. Later she was a member of the Aurora Country Club where she was an avid tennis player, golfer and bridge player. She will always be remembered for her no nonsense spirit and outgoing friendly nature. Though sadly missed, she will be remembered for her "tell it as it is" personality. Bea is survived by her son, Gerald (Carla) of Toronto; three grandsons, Greg (Sarah), Trevor (Jamie) and Grant (Heather); seven great grandchildren, Cameron, Mackenzie, Taya, Caliya, Tessa, Owen and Reid. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews among them are Jo Ellen Hollis, Mary Jane Richardson, Chris (Larry) Brodsky, Jeff (Wendi) Weber and Sandi (John) Jameson. Along with her parents and husband, Bea is preceded in death by her siblings, Kay (Stuart) Richardson, Dorothy (Lester) Hollis, Marie (John) Weber and Albert (Joanne) Walt. The Connor family would like to thank Plum Landing for their care and support, Safe at Home for her caregivers also, Pat Glavens, Vicki and Kurt Wurster for their never ending friendship and support for Bea. Interment will be private. There will be a "Celebration of Life" service in the spring which will be announced. In lieu of flowers a donation to your favorite charity would be appreciated.
