Carole Wyatt Obituary

Carole Jean Wyatt (nee Parkins), loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed peacefully away on Wednesday, August 4, 2015 at her home in Aurora. Carole was born on July 24th, 1934 in Aurora and spent her entire life living in the city, first on the east side and then on the west. She attended Brady Elementary and was a proud member of the 1952 graduating class of East Aurora High School, where she made many lifelong friends. Her close circle of friends included the famous "Dirty Dozen" cadre of women who enjoy each other's company still to this day. She counted these close friends as a special blessing, and together they shared each other's lives. Their support of Carole throughout her final years was typical of their devotion to the group. Carole married Dick Wyatt on April 10th, 1954 at New England Congregational Church in Aurora. They were married for 59 years when Dick passed away in 2012. Together they raised seven children. Carole worked for 20 years at Simmons Junior High as a teacher and valued mentor to many of her peers. Along with Dick, she was inducted into the Illinois High School Coaches Hall of Fame in recognition of their ardent support of the West Aurora High School Basketball Program. Carole was especially fond of gardening and took great pleasure in designing and planting the flower beds at Westwind Swim Club for many years. She was also a wonderful cook and never failed to provide great dinners for her large family. She will always be remembered for her warm smile and large dimples, which she flashed with ease to friends and strangers alike. She will always be remembered. Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Doris Parkins, her mother and father-in law, Sally and Art Wyatt and her husband, Dick Wyatt. She is survived by her children; Susan Wallin (Roy), Cathy Smith (Dale), Mary St. Jules (Chip), Jane Miller (Mike), William Wyatt (Gabriela), Sallee Wyatt (Dave) and Nancy Wyatt and her brother-in-law, Arthur R. Wyatt of Village of Golf, Florida. She took great pride and joy in her many grandchildren; Sarah and Julie Wallin, Cristin and Joseph McCue, Thomas and Andrew St. Jules, Greg, Cathy and Lauren Miller. Gabrielle and Richard Wyatt, Alisanne Wegman, Alexandra and Elizabeth Hurst, Meri, Elli, Laci and Wyatt Chivari. Carol was also blessed to have seen her great-grandchildren; Beyonce Brown, Derrick Jordan, Derrion Jordan, Michael and Reed Miller, Ella Jane and Ryan Marciniak , Aidan St. Jules and Danny Miller. Visitation will take place on Monday, August 10th from 4-8 pm at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 11th at 10 A.M. also at The Healy Chapel, Aurora. Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the A+ Foundation for West Aurora Schools, c/o Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley, 111 W. Downer Place, Suite 312, Aurora, IL 60506 in the name of the Dick and Carole Wyatt fund. For further information please call 630-897-9291 or visit www.healychapel.com to leave an online condolence.
