Cecelia Nance

Nance, Cecelia Mary 91, of Streator, died Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Liberty Village with family and caregivers at her side. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 26, at the Elias Funeral Home with Reverend Roger Hurlbut officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery in Streator. Visitation will be Thursday, June 26 from 9:00 to 11:00. Elias Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Cecelia was born April 18, 1923, to Polish immigrants, Stephen and Mary Dudek of Chicago, Illinois. Cecelia married Thomas Leon Nance June 14, 1944. They were married for 50 years. They spent several happy retirement years in Arkansas. Cecelia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas; her sisters, Catherine and Eleanor; brothers, Frank, Raymond, Matthew, Joseph, and Stanley. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara (James C.) Olmsted of Streator; son, Thomas Steven (Linda) Nance of Simpsonville, SC; grandchildren, James T. Olmsted, Timothy Olmsted, Benjamin Nance, Ryan Nance, Joshua Nance, and Andrea Nance; and 14 great-grandchildren. While retired, Cecelia did volunteer work at a hospital in Arkansas and St. Mary's Hospital in Streator. She will be missed by her two children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and friends.
