Clifford Erickson

1935 - 2014

Erickson, Clifford T. 79, of Aurora, passed away suddenly Monday, December 29, 2014 while visiting his beloved grandson in Georgia. He was born September 18, 1935 in DeKalb, IL, the son of the late Clifford and Hannah (Thompson) Erickson. Clifford enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps after high school as the Korean War was coming to a close, serving for 2 years, then being Honorably Discharged. After proudly serving his country, he moved to the Aurora area and married his wife, Donna K. Pierce. Working at financial institutions for most of his professional career, he retired as the President/CEO for 25 years at the Aurora Burlington Credit Union (now called Fox Valley Credit Union). He was an active member of the Fox Valley Marines, Loyal Order of Moose, Lucky "50" Club, The American Legion, American Turners and Sons of Norway. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Donna K. Erickson of Aurora; his daughters, Kareen (Edward) MacFarlane of Dacula, Georgia and Kathie (Jeff) Erickson-Jarka of Aurora; his only grandson, Luke MacFarlane; his sisters, Patricia (Oliver) Thorne of Nekoosa, WI and Lois (John) Bender of Belvidere, IL; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn (Donald) Paske of Belvidere, IL. A service to celebrate his life will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl., Aurora, IL. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
