James Ames Obituary

James A. Ames, 79, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2006. He was born on January 4, 1927, in Waddington, NY to Roy and Barbara (LaClair) Ames. He was an avid woodworker, and was a member of the VFW in Montgomery as well as a member of the Aurora Land Archers.

Survivors include his sons, Timothy (Stacey) Ames, of Aurora, IL, Scott (Martha) Ames, of Hinckley, IL; daughter, Elizabeth (Scott) Harris, of Elgin, IL; grandchildren, Joshua Ames, Carly Chapman, Jamie Ames, Jacob Ames and Crystal Byerley; great-grandchildren, Matthew Ames, Ezra Chapman, Charles Byerley, Cora-Lynn Byerley and Alexander Chism; sister, Kate Gonyea, of Syracuse, NY; and his loving dog, Teddy.

James preceded in death by his wife, Charlene, in 1997; his parents; brother, Paul Ames; and a sister, Dorothy Hosmer.

The family will be receiving guest on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 10:00 am at the memorial home. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to: Juvenile Diabetes, 120 Wall Street, 19th Floor, New York, NY 10005.
