Jerry Fleury Obituary

Jerry D. Fleury Jerry D. Fleury, 62, of Cortland, IL, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Kishwaukee Community Hospital. Jerry was born on August 20, 1947 in St. Charles, IL, the son of Charles L. and Charlotte M. (King) Fleury. He married Connie D. Nelson on December 12, 1996 at their home in Elburn, IL. He was employed by BRK Electronics in Aurora, IL, Dukane in St. Charles, All Tec Systems in Aurora and later Johnson Controls in Sycamore, IL. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in the Viet Nam era. He was a member of the Phoenix Club in Aurora, the DeKalb Columbus Club, DeKalb Elks and the Red Rim Racing Club. Jerry was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Connie; three siblings, Bob (Elizabeth) Fleury of Elgin, IL, Barbara (Larry) McDonald of Earlham, Iowa and twin sister, Judy Jurs of Hampshire, IL; three in-laws, Dale (Sue) Nelson of Yorkville, IL, Lorna Henderson of Plano, IL, and Ruth (Roger) Clayton of North Aurora, IL; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and his dog, Scooter. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at the Anderson Funeral Home, 2011 South Fourth Street, DeKalb, IL, 60115 with Rev. Robert Vaughn officiating. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2009 at the Anderson Funeral Home. Cremation will follow services at the Anderson Funeral Home Crematory. The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses of Kishwaukee Community Hospital for their care. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Jerry D. Fleury Memorial Fund in care of the Anderson Funeral Home, PO Box 605, DeKalb, IL 60115. For information, please call 815-756-1022.

Connie, Bob, and Judy. Sorry to hear about Jerry. I will always have good memories of him and your mom Charlotte. I called her Aunt Charlotte but she was really a great aunt to me. Her sister Gen was my grandmother. Mary Elizabeth O'donahue was my mom. you all will be in my thoughts.-john

My thoughts are with you and your family.. Jerry was a wonderfull man. I had the privilege of working with Jerry at The Phoenix Club in Aurora. I was the Manager there and he was the President.. He did a great job for the club...We respected each other and worked together well...He will be missed....Roger Blume
