John Kopp Obituary

John A. Kopp, 70, of Aurora passed away on November 18, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born on January 16, 1947 in Aurora, IL the son of John and Angeline (Ceserani) Kopp. He married Bernice Kasztelan on July 3, 1965 and they spent the next 52 years together. John retired from Layne Christensen in 2007 after 40+ years of dedicated service. He was a member of numerous social clubs. John embraced the trades at a young age and continued that passion throughout his life. He was known as a "jack of all trades" and a master of most. His passions in life included drag racing, fishing and socializing but his biggest passion was spending time with his family. They spent summers vacationing in Minnesota where many wonderful memories were made. They also spent many winters in Florida. John will be deeply missed but his legacy will live on through the memories and traditions that he instilled in his family and friends. He is survived by his wife Bernice Kopp, children; Tamara (Michael) Olson, Michelle (John) Kramoski, Jennifer (Nicholas) Theodor, Angela (Gary) Mosley and John (Tabitha) Kopp, grandchildren; Matthew, Kirsten, and Brittney Kramoski, Thomas, Jonathan, and Anthony Theodor, Gary and Amelia Mosley, Adalena and John Robert Kopp and 2 great-granddaughters. He is also survived by his brother Michael (Linda) Kopp and several nieces, nephews and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother Anthony in infancy. Family will be receiving guests on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway Ave. Montgomery, IL 60538. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter Catholic Church, 925 Sard Ave, Aurora, IL. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, Aurora, IL.

My condolences and prayers to John's family. I am so sorry to hear John passed. I was just thinking about him the other day, and our days we work together at Layne. We were never late for work when he drove that Camero, but were always late getting home. RIP my old friend.
