Matthew Hageman Obituary

With deepest sorrow, we announce that Matthew Clark Hageman, our beloved son, father, brother,

grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend, passed suddenly on November 10, 2021. Born May 12, 1986,

Matt sure made an impact in his short 35 years earthside. Matt was a character. The people closest to

him loved him unconditionally. Matt didn't hide the person he was. He came into this world fighting

with many medical issues. He lived hard, worked hard, and went out like he entered- fighting like crazy.

Matt loved his sports, especially the Cubbies! You knew Matt was in the house if you heard him yelling

at the TV, hands on his head, pacing back and forth. Matt was a hard worker. He began working in the

Laborer Local 149 Union and Pipefitters Union at the age of 18. His nickname at work was "Blue Hat

Matt". He was proud to wear that blue hardhat with all the places he had worked. Matt worked hard

because he loved money. With that money, he bought the second thing in life he loved the most- shoes.

And they couldn't be dirty. White shoes! He would outshop everyone with his shoe and jersey

obsession. Although Matt grew up boating and water skiing with his family, he loved Winter. The colder

the better. We knew he loved the cold weather because he was so damn hyper! Matt will be missed

every day, especially by his wonderful and amazing son Caden, loving mother, Sherry (Rob) Zimmerman,

Father Kenneth Hageman, Brother Justin Allen and nephew Brian, Grandmother Wanda Morrison,

Grandfather Ravin Clark, Aunt Renee Clark, Uncle Mike Morrison, Uncle Tom (Ann) Hageman, Aunt

Susan Hageman, Caden's mom Bethany Loehmann, many cousins, and great friends. We know Matt is

now with his brother Ronald Stephen Allen, Grandfathers Peter B. Morrison, Kenneth Hageman,

Grandmother Florabelle Hageman, Uncle Randy Shelton, and Aunt Jodi Morrison. He is loved here on

earth as well as in heaven. "What moves through us in silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more

day, one more word, one more touch. We may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why

you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that

you died, but that you lived." Fly high, Matt. We love you.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later

date.
