Michael Collins Obituary
Michael was born on 7/10/1941 to Thomas and Genevieve (Kearins) Collins at St. Anne's Hospital in Chicago, IL. After serving as an MP in the Air Force from 1959-1964 he landed his first job as a salesman for Ed Fanning Chevrolet in Aurora.IL, kicking off a life-long career. He worked his way up at the Chevy store and eventually opened Fox Valley Ford in 1981 with business partner Fran Cirrincione.
Mike married Kathleen (Muldoon) on 7/27/1968 at St. Anne's Church in Itasca, IL, going on to have 3 sons, Mike Jr., Brian and Tom. When he wasn't working or doting on his family you could find him on the golf course or playing cards at the 19th hole at the Aurora Country Club where he was a member for over 40 years.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his stepfather, Albert Schmidt; and siblings, Kathleen Meyer, Judith Taylor, Deborah Nowak and Bartley Collins.
He is survived by his wife, Katy; his 3 sons, Mike and Sharon Collins of Geneva, IL, Brian and Mary Collins of North Aurora, IL and Tom and Mary Collins of Sugar Grove, IL; his 7 granddaughters, Cassie and Jackie (Mike Jr), Caitlin and Ashley (Brian) and Shannon, Kelly and Bridget (Tom); and his brother, Tom Collins of San Diego, CA.
Visitation will be from 3pm to 8pm, Tuesday July 26, at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Pl. in Aurora. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30am, Wednesday July 27, at Holy Angels Church, Lancaster and Hardin Avenues in Aurora.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Holy Angels Catholic School in Aurora or Holy Cross Catholic School in Batavia.

Sad to hear of Mikes passing. I watched as his career in Aurora grew. Hard work and a strong desire to excell in business had to be admired. Rest in peace Mike. You made your mark on Aurora history.

Many many great memories of Mike whether at a poker all niter or at his home making sure all we´re served at several New Years Eve party. Either several members of the Aurora Country Club. Was always most courteous tome during my tenure at the club. Always very generous with gratuities which was appreciated Mike was a Great guy Thanks for the memories
