Ray M. Lidecka, 91, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Ray was born to James and Dorothy McKeaige on May 29, 1932. He was adopted by George and Anna Lidecka in 1946. Ray lived in the Aurora area all his life other than his military service. He served in the US Army from November of 1952 to October of 1954.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years, Jodeen (Fitzgerald) Lidecka: his son David Lidecka; his daughter, Sara (Lidecka) Schubbe; his sister, Ruth Lidecka Dekker and his brother James McKeaige.

Ray was active with Wayside Cross Ministries and was a long-time member of Union Congregational Church in North Aurora. Ray is survived by four daughters, Ruth Lidecka, Jane (Ron) Laird, Martha (Scott) Chesterfield and Samantha Lidecka; his brother Dennis Miller as well as 7 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. The family would like to thank Unity Hospice, particularly Hannah and Brittne, who provided him with loving care and support in his final days.

Ray was such a special guy. I first met him when I worked at Grimms. Over the years my parents became friends with Ray and Jo and the kids. They enjoyed fun times together at the resort in Northern Wisconsin. Prayers for his family.

Ray was a good and kind man who never met a stranger! He was a longtime member of Lifelong Learning Institute at Waubonsee Community College and participated with zeal. What a guy! God love him and receive him with both arms.
