Richard Malone Obituary

Richard Jack Malone, 81, of Aurora, died from complications of dementia Thursday, November 23, 2017. Richard was born March 12, 1936, in Dixon, Illinois, to John L. and Lillian M. (Tonn) Malone. Richard graduated from Chicago's Tuley High School in 1954. He married, Margarita Rico on June 6, 1959, in Chicago and together they raised their four daughters, Sharon, LuAnne, Janet and Denise. At age 15, Richard dedicated his life to teaching others of Jehovah God's promises. Richard was steadfast in his adolescent decision to become a Jehovah's Witness, even as his father's disapproval caused him to leave home. From Chicago to Aurora, Richard went door-to-door to place the Watchtower and Awake magazines and handbills that invited folks to the local Kingdom Hall for Sunday public talks. Bringing a person to conversion was success in life and he spent countless hours of instruction at the Hall and places of district assemblies. Richard was also an avid reader and loved classical music. Richard is survived by his ex-wife, Margarita; daughters, Sharon (Rick) Hernandez and LuAnne (Scott) Leavitt of Aurora and Janet (Rob) Richardson of Cumming, Georgia; five grandchildren, Jacob Renteria of North Aurora, Keith (Amanda) Hernandez and Marisa Renteria of Aurora, David (Danielle) Richardson of Columbus, Indiana and Daniel (Jessica) Richardson of Douglasville, Georgia; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. As a resident for ten years, Richard also leaves behind friends at Heritage Woods Assisted Living, Batavia, Illinois. Richard was preceded in death by his parents; his infant son, David; his daughter, Denise; his brother, Robert (Marge) Malone and sisters, Patricia Malone (in childhood), Eileen Owen and Carol (Paul) Scott. Friends may gather at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora, Illinois at 10 A.M. on Saturday, December 2, 2017 for visitation followed by a brief talk and prayer at noon. A private burial of cremains will follow for family members at Lincoln Memorial Park, Rt. 30, Aurora.
