Stephanie Homerding Obituary

Stephanie Renee Homerding, age 39 of Plainfield, IL passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 1, 2017. She was born on June 5, 1978 in Joliet, IL the daughter of Brian and Sharon (Mathre) Homerding. Stephanie was a 1996 graduate of Oswego High School where she had been a member of its band. Stephanie was a former 4-H member who throughout her life was an avid animal lover. She enjoyed playing softball in high school and then later on several area teams. Stephanie grew up on her family farm and always enjoyed nothing more than helping during the harvest by running combines and grain wagons. She was also a true blue Chicago Cubs baseball fan. Stephanie was a loving daughter, sister, aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends. Stephanie is survived by her parents, Brian and Sharon Homerding of Minooka, IL; her brothers, Michael (Nicole) Homerding and Jeffrey (Katie) Homerding both of Yorkville, IL; her nieces and nephews, Jacob, Max, Grace, Jack and Haley Homerding; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John and Evelyn Homerding and Sherman and Eloise Mathre; and cousin, Jessica Mathre. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Cross Lutheran Church, 8609 Rt. 47 in Yorkville, IL with Pastor Eric Gauss, officiating. Interment will follow in Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Yorkville, IL. Friends may visit from 2:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street in Yorkville, IL. Memorials in loving memory of Stephanie may be directed to Cross Lutheran Church and School, 8609 Route 47, Yorkville, IL. Homerding family our hearts go out to you- Stephanie was a precious soul, and we cannot fathom the loss. We were retelling the chocolate frosting recipe story on the phone - that Stephanie had apparently not tasted (her mom's special frosting). A happy memory at least.
