William Woody

1951 - 2016

William D. Woody, 65, of Somonauk passed away Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Kishwaukee Hospital in Sycamore, IL. He was born July 21, 1951 in Sandwich, IL, the son of Elma and Alice (Bowerman) Woody. He married Kathy Klatt on August 26, 1972 in Plano, IL. William was employed and retired as the superintendent of Plano Schools. He enjoyed golfing, riding his motorcycle, hiking, traveling but his greatest love of all was his family and spending time with all of them. He is survived by his wife, Kathy of Somonauk, IL; two daughters, Danielle (Steve) Gillhaus of Lake Zurich, IL and Ashley Woody of Somonauk, IL; one son, Nicholas (Nycole) Woody of Somonauk, IL; six grandchildren, Sereniti, Hannah, Cameron, Easton, William and Brielle; two sisters, Shirley Hopkins and Janice (Jerry) Antrobus; two brothers, Jim Woody and Gary (Linda) Woody; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Norma Carner and one brother, Daniel Woody. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Burial will be at a later date at Little Rock Township Cemetery in Plano. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at the funeral home in Somonauk. Memorials may be directed to Multiple Myeloma Cancer Research.
