Haskell Ruppard Obituary
Haskell (Hack) J. Ruppard, 88, of Banner Elk, NC, passed away on November 11, 2023 at the Life Care of Banner Elk.
He was born on July 8, 1935 to the late Tate and Doris (Townsend) Ruppard in Banner Elk, NC. He worked for Cannon Memorial Hospital for 44 years taking care of the maintenance. Hack never met a stranger. He was friends with everyone and was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone. Hack enjoyed to joke and carry on with anyone and everyone. He also loved his cats and other animals.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Homer Ruppard and Roger Ruppard, sister, Joyce Taylor.
Haskell is survived by his loving spouse of 64 years, Shelby; two sisters, Pauline (Dean) Trivett of Banner Elk and Ollie (Jerry) Ruppard of Pigeonroost, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at the Matney Cemetery at 2:00 PM with, Keith Gwyn officiating and music provided by Jamie Blair. Pallbearers will be Josh Gragg, Ricky Blair, Tod Jones and Billy Ruppard.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Avery Humane Society, PO Box 1213, Newland, NC 28657.
