David Mansfield Obituary

David E. Mansfield March 25,1943-January 2, 2024 born in Lawton,Oklahoma. His father was in the Air Force. Some of Dave's fondest memories were when his father was stationed in Guam. Dave moved with his family to the Antelope Valley in 1957. He graduated from Palmdale High School and received his Associate of Arts degree from Antelope Valley Community College and his Bachelor's degree from the University of Redlands. Dave was employed in aerospace working as a structural mechanic and industrial engineer. He was employed by McDonnell Douglas on the A-4 Skyhawk, Rockwell International, Northrop Grumman, and Boeing over the course of his 43-year career. He was involved with Indian Guides and Boy Scouts with his son Shane. He was a member of the Rockwell/Boeing Management Club and a board member of White Fence Farms Water Company. Upon being diagnosed with Vascular Dementia in May of 2013, Dave insisted upon keeping a positive attitude, being active, and keeping his life with his family and friends as normal as possible. He was very courageous in his battle with dementia. Dave is survived by his wife Becky, son Shane, sisters Patricia Kay and Kandy, brothers-in-law Joe and Jim, his Aunt Frances, nephews Oliver, Norris, Mike, Ellery, and Benjamin, and nieces Charla, Chelsea, Elliotte, Roux, and Melanie. Services will be held at Halley Olsen Funeral Home at 44831 Cedar Avenue, Lancaster, CA. on January 25, 2024, at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Desert Lawn Memorial Park Cemetary- 2200 East Avenue S, in Palmdale, CA. In lieu of flowers, in Dave's honor, a contribution can be made to www.alivingtribute.org.

My darling husband of 54 years- I truly miss you-I have many fond and wonderful memories of our times together- our son is taking good care of me - but our home seems quite empty without your presence yet you´re in my heart at all times. You planned well for your wife and son and as always made sure we are safe and taken care of. I miss you greatly but I know you are no longer suffering and know that one day we will meet up with one another. You will ALWAYS be at my side, in my heart, spirit, and NEVER forgotten. Your loving wife Becky

I have so many fond memories growing up with my wonderful Uncle David and all our family adventures. Uncle David was a very kind person who was always there to help someone out. We had many great family trips camping and meeting up at the family ranch in Sheridan, Wyoming. I hope he is at peace now after his battle with dementia. I'm sure we will meet again in our next chapter in life! Love Ellery
