John William Hemme

John Hemme February 15, 1944 - January 30, 2024 Lancaster - John William Hemme, 79, of Lancaster, CA, went to be with the lord on January 30, 2024. Born on February 15, 1944, John was a beloved husband to Mary, a caring father to John, Cheryl, Larry, and Lanny, and a cherished brother to Edna, Roy, Ronald, Donald, and Bob. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Forest, mother Hilda, sister Ginnie, brother Ed, and son Ricky. John was a genuine and hardworking man who moved to the Antelope Valley at the age of 7. He had a great sense of humor and was known for his selflessness and the love for his family. John was a fighter who always put others before himself. John attended Eastside Elementary and graduated from Antelope Valley High School in 1962. In his early career, John worked at Northrop Grumman before his father helped him acquire his first semi-truck at the age of 20. Shortly after, he established Hemme Hay Trucking, where he dedicated many years of hard work and dedication. John enjoyed hunting, working on vehicles, and watching his grandchildren at the racetrack. He had a passion for these hobbies and found joy in spending time with his loved ones. A ceremony to honor John's life will be held at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds on February 17, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. Please join us in celebrating the life of John Hemme Sr., a funny, caring, and loving man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
