I was was thinking back the other day and looked up information about AlWondering how he was doing. I was saddened to hear of his passing. Al was a man that greatly influenced me in a positive manner, as a young man i often had the privilege of meeing with him To present my companies products and he helped me become more confident in my own abilities. He was a kind man that encouraged me to excel . May sound strange to hear that as a VP he would concerned about a single individual that called on him in a business situation. I appreciated his business and his help. Al was a pleasure to do business with. I am sure their are others that feel the same way. Barry A.Fisk

Dear Basila Family, Both my wife, Cecile, and I worked with Al at the Bashas' main office throughout the decade of the 1980s. He was always a very thoughtful and professional man, and his deep wonderful eyes exuded a love for life!
We both enjoyed working along side him and the whole family of Bashas' members of the time. May Al now rest in the peace of Jesus.

My sincere condolences to the family of Albert Basila. Growing up in Phoenix, I knew Al from Kenilworth grade school days, through North High days. Al was always a good student, and a friend. We tossed the football out in the street (Holly, if I remember correctly) in front of his house until it got dark. He had a real good arm and could send it a long way down the street. I worked with both Wally and Ed Estfan at GE. Those two were just as good friends to me as was Al. A couple of times I ran into Dave at the Pharmacy- Dave was always cordial and friendly. THANKS Basilas and Estfans for being the people you are. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of your extended family.

Marlene and Family my deepest condolences. I knew Al for over 50 years and was one of the finest men I have met in the grocery industry. Al would always ask how my parents were which showed his compassion for people. A major factor to the success of Bashas. I will always remember him as a friend. Keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers.

To the Basila Family: My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring comfort. Knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
