Albert Ditzig Obituary

Ditzig, Albert F.
passed away at St. Joseph Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona on October 12, 2016 due to heart complications at the age of 81. Albert was born on February 28, 1935 in Waukegan, Illinois to his parents, Albert and Bernice Ditzig. In his earlier years he was in the Army Reserves and then obtained his Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. On June 25, 1960 Albert married Rose Anne and they had four children. They moved from Waukegan, Illinois to Hoffman Estates, Illinois in 1969 and remained there for 41 years before moving to Gilbert, Arizona in 2010. Albert is survived by Rose Anne, his wife of 56 years, his sons, Mark, Greg and Allan Ditzig, his daughter Laura Lentz, fifteen grandchildren, and five great- grandchildren and two siblings, Janet Fabian of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Steven Ditzig of Fox Lake, Illinois. He was a brilliant engineer with over 50 patents. Albert was a devoted Green Bay Packers and Chicago White Sox fan. He loved, grilling, fishing and all sports. Albert was a loving husband and father and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. He is now in the hands of our Lord and Savior. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 10:30 am at Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 2654 E. Williams Field Rd., Gilbert, Arizona 85295. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Albert's life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Saint Jude's Research Hospital (stjude.org). Interment will be at Assentation Cemetery in Libertyville, Illinois at a later date. Condolences may be made at www.qohcfh.org. Arrangements entrusted to Queen of Heaven Catholic Funeral Home
