Alice Garvey Obituary
December 20, 2005. She was born May 1, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois to Raymond and Josephine Nelson. She married Robert Joseph Garvey in Chicago in 1942. She moved to Arizona in 1950 with her husband and oldest son. Alice was a longtime resident of Paradise Valley where she raised her family. She was manager of the Shadow Mountain High School snack bar until she retired in 1984. She will be dearly missed by her family that she loved so much. She was preceded in her death by her husband, Robert J. Garvey Sr. and by her brother, Raymond L. Nelson. She is survived by sons, Robert J. Garvey Jr. (Aileen) of Sun Lakes, James P. Garvey (Barbara) of Chandler, and daughter Jody Bondeson(Richard) of Scottsdale, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 22, 2005, from 4 to 7 PM at Shadow Mountain Mortuary 2350 E Greenway Rd. Phoenix. A Funeral Mass will be said Friday, December 23, 2005, at 10 AM at St. Joan of Arc 3801 E. Greenway Rd. Phoenix.,with burial at St. Francis cemetery.

Dear Bob, Jimmy and Jodi, and extended family,
My condolences on the loss of your mother. No words can adequately tell you what is in my heart. She was a good mother, to all of us, and I doubt if I would have made it many times, had she not been there for me, as I am sure you often feel. So many sweet memories. Thank you for sharing her all those years. She was a good teacher and good friend and I am grateful for having had her in my life for so long. My love and prayers go out to you.
