Allen Boettcher Obituary

Boettcher, Allen
79, of Mesa passed away on March 25, 2017. Allen was born January 23, 1938. He was born and raised in Wisconsin. Allen attended the University of Wisconsin where he earned his Bachelors and Master's Degrees in Horticulture. Allen was a County Extension Agent in Las Vegas, Nevada before moving to Mesa. Allen organized and taught the Master Gardeners Program for Maricopa County Extension Agency. Allen believed "Being a Master Gardener shouldn't be a task; it should be fun." Allen enjoyed teaching about gardening and about Micro Climates. Allen is survived by his brothers, Gordon and Eva Boettcher and Bill Boettcher of Albuquerque, nephew Mark and Mary Boettcher of Centennial, CO, niece Karen and John Ihlein of Albuquerque, Rita and Mike Hutt of Tempe, and many gardening friends. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Maricopa County 4-H.
