Hardt, Barbara Wray
77 of Mesa, AZ, passed away on April 25, 2017. She had dementia/Alzheimer's. Barbara was born April 23, 1940 in Guthrie, OK to Robert Edgar and Helen Ruth (Ward) Blaney. She grew up on family farms in Marshall and Mulhull, OK. She was active in basketball, band, and twirling during school. She graduated from Mulhull High School in 1958. In Wichita, KS she married, James Robert Hardt who was from MO. They had three children CJ, Paula Raylene and Pamela Sue. After her husband passed in 1975, she provided for her children by working as a Realtor in the 70s, a bookkeeper and newspaper advertising ad setter in the 80s, and as a school secretary in the 90s and early 2000s - where she retired from Mesa Public Schools. Her interests included church, family, playing the piano, singing in the choir, genealogy, gardening, sewing and reading. She devoted much love and time to her dear grandchildren; Jennifer Wray, Michael James, Lauren Raylene, Ashley Marie, Tiffany Roxanne, and Adam Jeffrey. Barbara is survived by her great aunt Carolyn Joyce Ward; sisters Emma Jean McCurdy and Sheryl Ann Martin; children CJ, Paula, and Pam; grandchildren Jennifer, Mickey, Ashley and Tiffany. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her two brothers Robert Edgar Blaney Jr and Terry Martin Blaney, her grandson Adam Jeffrey Hardt (Pearson), and her granddaughter Lauren Raylene (name change: Samantha Maxey). A memorial service was held on Wednesday May 3rd, 2017 at Melcher Mortuary Chapel of the Roses in Mesa, AZ. She was buried on Thursday May 4th, 2017 at the Mesa Cemetery in Mesa, AZ. Barbara was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Mesa, AZ and served at the Family History Center in Mesa. She loved Jesus and Heavenly Father very much. May she be surrounded by her loved ones, always.
