Benny Thompson Obituary

Thompson, Benny Ray III
of Phoenix AZ born March 3, 1982 began his journey in Heaven March 5, 2009 and was preceded by the passing of his grandmother Betty Pierce 2 days earlier on his 27th Birthday. Beloved family who was also waiting for him at the gates of Heaven are both his grandfathers Benny Ray Thompson Sr. (Pa-Pa) and Donald L. Pierce. Benny Ray leaves behind his fiance Rachelle Martin & her daughter Kaily Cole of Phoenix, his father Benny Ray Thompson Jr. (Bobby), his mother and stepfather Debra and Bill Kroll and his grandmother Sarah F. Thompson. Benny Ray spent many of his teenage years living in Scottsdale, AZ with his aunt Debbie McCubbin and her children, Brandon and Brian McCubbin and Taryn Thompson Michalak and her husband Brian who through their years together as cousins, deepend their relationship together, becoming brothers and sisters in all their hearts. For a lot of his childhood he lived in his grandparent's Phoenix home with his cousin John Vincent Christie. Benny Ray and John shared a life long bond and a brotherhood that only grew stronger as they grew into their adult lives. Benny Ray was deeply loved by John's children Jessica and Korbin Christie and by his aunt and uncle Brenda and Stuart Hamer. He was also loved throughout his life by his Uncle Steve and cousin Collin Thompson and uncle Johnny Christie, his aunt Linda and uncle Terry along with their children, cousins James and Amber Gillespie of Arizona. Benny Ray lived in California for a time when he was a young child and was loved dearly by his aunt and uncle Sharon and Howard Proctor, cousins Kim and John Gomes, Michelle and Dan Sibley and Mike and Shelley Heard. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle Linda and John Hundt of Idaho. The grief and pain that we are all feeling from losing Benny Ray far too soon only compares with the love and joy we were all blessed with during the short time he was with us on earth. Together we are united as his family and friends to honor his life and to remember our love for him as we say goodbye on earth. His memory will be held in our hearts until we reunite in Heaven. Services are planned for 10am on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Hansen Mortuary, 8314 N. 7th St, Phoenix, AZ 85021. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor through Hansen Mortuary.

Our deepest sympathy to Benny's Family & Fiance. We were shocked and saddened to hear the news of both Benny & Seth's passing.

My nephew, Michael Kruk was Benny's best friend. I've had the honor of meeting Benny on several occasions. Benny even came to our house, here in Illinois.

I will remember Benny as a very caring, polite, individual, always with a smile on his face.

Benny & Seth left quite an impression on the Kruk & Thomas family. They will be sorely missed.

Our thoughts & prayers are with all of you.

To John and Benny Ray's family, I remember Benney Ray very well. He will be missed and loved by all that follows. He was a very kind and bright young person that always had a smile on his face.

I wanted to send our condolences to Benny's family and let you know how sorry we are.
Our nephew Michael was best of friends with Benny so we had the honor of meeting him a few times. He struck me as such a nice, kind young man. We were lucky enough to see him and Seth at their best at my nephews wedding do their Dirty Dancing rendition. Benny running and jumping in to Seths arms and Seth lifting him into the air. It was amazing and hysterical at the same time. It brought down the house.
Benny and Seth both will be greatly missed.
