Betty Lomeli Obituary
91, of Phoenix passed away on April 11, 2016. Born January 18, 1925, was a native of Phoenix and lived here all her life. She attended Creighton Elementary School and was the valedictorian of her graduating class. She attended North High School and graduated in the top 10%. During her life time she was active in Campfire Girls, Girl Scouts and church activities with the 1st Baptist Church. She worked for the Naval department during the war at Luke Air Force Base. She loved the USO dances. Her hobbies included her family, sewing, traveling and walking with the" Walkabouts." She attended Maricopa Technical college to become a Medical Secretary. She worked as a Medical Secretary for Good Samaritan Hospital and retired after once becoming "Employee of the Month". Preceding her in death was her husband of 30 years, Jess Lomeli and her daughter Debbie Boone. She is survived by her children Aldo Lomeli, Kathye Handsaker, Ronald Lomeli and their spouses. Her legacy includes 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Memorial service is Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 12:00, at the Living Streams Church 7000 North Central Avenue. In lieu of flowers her wishes for any donations to go to The Ladybug House, PO Box 80801, 620 S. Orcas St., Seattle,WA. 98108. www.ladybughouse.org/give, a hospice pediatric home.
