I'm sitting here watching a YouTube video in 2025 of an old 12 News 10pm newscast from Jan 1988. I was 13 years old then. I remember Bill from TV but my best memories of Bill stem from his time on KEZ. My mother listened to Beth and Bill in the mornings on her drive to work and in her office. I have such fond memories from my childhood in Arizona with Bill's voice as the soundtrack. I miss those times and I miss Bill. I hope your family knows just how special of a place you hold in so many of our lives, Bill. Rest well - I hope to see you again in heaven.

Beth and Bill really defined unscripted humor. I say humor, but that would be unfair to the seriousness of their message. They were both passionate about different things. I remember Beth pounding her fist about -well something so long ago I don't remember.

I hpe the network will re-air "Cooking with Beth and Bill"

I've been living outside the state for several years and just came home this year to be with the fam for Xmas and my mom told me about the sad news. I am deeply shocked and saddened that Bill passed away. I was just a little boy growing up in Mesa when I first started watching Bill on channel 12. I grew up watching and later listening to him on the radio and their spots on Good Morning Arizona. As I got older and found myself working in radio, I worked in the same building as he did and would run into him in the break room to get coffee. I never formally met the guy but I always enjoyed our exchanges of witty banter when we would cross paths in the break room. To me, Bill was a celebrity. I am surprised I could handle a conversation, I was always a nervous wreck when he would crack a joke or two with me.

I appreciate What Bill Austin brought to our world. Kudos to writer of the story, it was very well written. May Bill be at peace. Merry Christmas.

Bill was my Uncle in a non family way, I knew him since high school days when he worked at KBIM and was part of the drama class he and his mom and dad were a part of our life. When he worked in Amarillo was the last and final time I would see him and get to hear his wonderful voice. I am so proud to have been in his life even if for a short time.

I am very sad to hear that Bill has past away. I was setting up my internet radio and trying to find the KEZ radio. I live in San Antonio now and truly miss the Beth and Bill morning show. That was true entertainment. I wish Bill was here so I can tell him how much I ennjoyed his humor and laughing, on the morning show. Laughter is why I listened to KEZ. Beth, Thank you for those fabulous morning shows. I finally got to meet you and Bill, while singing Karoke, with Nancy and Perry Damone (2000). KEZ has given Phoenix a whole lot of entertainment. Beth, and Bill, thanks again for all of those fantastic memories. AKA Wolfman (Country Kicken Dave)

Oh My Gosh, I just found out Bill has passed away from cancer. I used to live in Phoenix, now I live in Kansas where I work as a nurse, and I love to listen to KEZ Christmas music, so I logged on and just found out about Bill. When I found out, it physically took my breath away, I gasped. My life is darker today, because I will miss him.

December 10, 2010

I have lived in the valley for eleven years and this was the first morning I listened too. I love Fox 10 news in the morning and watching Beth every morning is my comfort. I just learned of this tragic loss this morning listening to the Christmas morning show. I have lost my mother, and grandmother to cancer. I am so sorry, Beth and to all the loyal listeners and members of 99.9. God bless all of you. Merry Christmas. Michele in Phoenix

I loved listening to Beth and Bill in the morning. I have lived in the valley my entire life. If I had not been going through a trajedy of my own I would have known this sooner. I listen to 99.9 all the time. I just lost my dad to cancer, he was 54. This has been such a rough year. I lost my grandma, my 13 yr old chihuahua, and my dad. Now I hear of Bill's death as well. I am sad to hear this news. Bill, you are in my prayers. You and my dad should get along well. You both have the same sense of humor.

This weekend I said to my aunt..I sure wish Bill hadn't retired, that's when she told me he passed, I had no idea. I am sad that I have been to wrapped up in life to not know that one of the most sweetest people has left the earth and a void. Beth, you are so awesome and Bill was so lucky to have you by his side.
Happy Holidays Bill.

This tells you just when someone is TOO busy. I moved to Phoenix about a year after Bill started on Channel 12. I lived in Phoenix well into his Beth&Bill days, and I often listened to them during my long commutes to work from the East Valley.

Now that I live in DC, I lost touch with AZ and didn't even hear about Bill's passing until just before Christmas.

Bill - you will be missed. AZ will not be same without you.

I was saddened to learn of Bill's passing. I remember when Beth & Bill first aired on KEZ, I do not remember Beth's former partner as he played the stronger personality but remember when Beth remarked about the name for the new show she said "Why Not Beth & Bill" and the rest is history. I listened to them as most of the valley did on my way to work each morning and continued to do so infrequently via the Internet after moving to Lincoln, NE in 2001. What a great pair of Radio Personalities, they will never be matched and Bill will be missed forever.

We were out of town at the time of Bill Austin's death. I always wondered if there was a problem when he "retired". I listened to Beth & Bill every morning going to work and actually hoped for some slow traffic so I could listen as long as possible. He had a great wit.

August 20, 2010

Just found out about this...everything has been said, but i must add Beth and Bill: THE BEST PARTNERSHIP...........EVER!!!!!He is so missed by so many and it is a blessing that he had Beth's family in his life.

A FRIEND

June 19, 2010

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Beth and Bill offered us so many opportunities to have some pure unadulterated fun, at their own expense. Years ago, I won front row seats to see Harry Connick Jr when the Dodge Theater first opened it's doors. I will never forget how Bill was genuinely happy for me, and offered to go if I couldn't find a person for the other ticket. I moved to Ohio 7 years ago, and I still caught up with them online and via my Beth and Bill emails. A light has gone out in Phoenix..may he be lighting the way for others when we get there. God bless you Bill, and thank you. Much Love!

Wow! I was out of state last week and had no idea Bill had passed away. I was saddened when Bill retired in February, but nothing was ever said about his battle with cancer - he kept that closely guarded. Bill always made the day a little brighter, and brought smiles to our faces even on the more challenging days we all face. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and fans, of which I consider myself one! May God bless and have a special place in Heaven for this great man!!
