Carlos Bean Obituary

Carlos Manley Bean, 77, a Phoenix resident , most recently for 25 years, died Thursday morning, December 27, 2007, outside of his home. Born in Athens, OH, his family moved with him at a young age to the Valley of the Sun. As a young man, he was an honorably discharged soldier of the U.S. Army and a veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a proud American who fervently enjoyed our national past-time of baseball. Throughout his life, he remained a staunch Cincinnati Reds fan, always tracking the stats of the Big Red Machine. Carlos was a man of few friends, but the ones he held close, he sincerely cherished. He is survived by son & daughter-in-law, Steven & Helene Bean, son & daughter-in-law, Douglas & Malika Bean; daughter & son-in law, Heidi & Derek Andreasen; and daughter, Nancy Bean. He has four grandchildren; grandsons Sean & David Bean, and granddaughters, Elise & Chloe Andreasen. He also has two sisters, Dorothy Hollister and Enid Henderson. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM, Friday, January 4, 2008, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 North Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ. Arrangements entrusted to Lowmans Arizona Funeral Home, Inc.

May it comfort you to know that our caring thoughts and prayers are with you at this time on the loss of your father. I have fond childhood memories of my Uncle, and am very glad he was able to meet my husband and sons at the wedding of my son, Thomas.

Much love,
Christine (and Bill)
