Cheryl McPeek Obituary

McPeek, Cheryl Ann
1/24/1945 - 8/7/2015. Born in Cleveland, Ohio to Loretta and Frank Missbach. She grew up and met "the most handsome man she had ever seen" and married him in 1967. Together they had two children and raised a family. They moved to Tempe, Arizona in 1983. Cheryl served many different people as a teacher's aide, coordinator of a clothing bank for the poor of Mesa, and as a nursing assistant. Cheryl gave freely all her life and volunteered in many ways. She was particularly fond of the ministry she most recently did in a local prison and was a beloved church community member. Cheryl saw the good in everyone and reflected it back. She listened. When you spoke with Cheryl, you knew that you had her full attention and care. It was her unconditional love and generous heart that endeared her to so many. Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Frank, her children, Shannon Brender (Mel) and Kevin (Kim), and grandchildren (Ashlie, 24; Ryelee, 7; and Dameon, 6). A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 17th; 10:30AM at Guardian Angels Ecumenical Catholic Community, 1701 S College Avenue, Tempe AZ 85282, followed by committal at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 E Baseline Road, Mesa AZ 85204 at 2:30PM. Those attending the Mass are asked to wear blue instead of black, as that was Cheryl's favorite color.

Cheryl was a sweet lady with an open face and smile, and I enjoyed every moment I spent in her company. I know Shannon and Kevin were molded in her love, and it shows. She'll be missed by all who knew her
