Dear Jeanette, We have never met, but Kevin and my son were in Cub Scouts together until we moved back to the Chicago area in 2005. I just heard of your terrible loss this week. I have no words of wisdom - the pain does not go away, but you learn to live with it. I want to share this poem with you - a friend of mine gave it to us when we lost our son in 1993 --
"God needed a perfect flower to complete a beautiful setting in His Garden of Eternity. He sent His Angel to earth to find that flower; and the angel took back to God the loveliest one he could see. Heaven rejoiced at the beauty -- the pattern was finished."

Dear Jeanette,
I think of you and your boys often. I worry about you and how you are surviving. You are a very special person. May God watch over you until the day you join Him and reunite with your precious Cody and Kevin.
Take Care,

I did not know Cody and Kevin but met them last week when I stood at their gravesite while attending a funeral for my neighbor, Al Mackenzie. I was moved to find out who these boys were, so loved and honored with flowers and toys, and forever together as brothers. They are at peace with God but I know their family will feel this pain for all eternity. May God comfort you all.

Dear Jeanette,
You are in my thoughts daily and I grieve not only the loss of Kevin and Cody, but for your pain. I am here in thought and prayer. Please call me (602-423-1508) if you would like an ear to talk to, a shoulder to cry on, or just someone to share the joy Kevin and Cody brought to this life. God Bless you.

Jeanette-
My heart weeps for you forever. My mouth wishes to say words of Cody and Kevin, but instead, tears speak for themselves. here is a poem I wrote 4 u, I hope you like it.
as the days pass by and by,
I hope they found their wings to fly,
the tears I weep feel like magic,
and their loss was tragic.
------------------------------------
my life has changed for good,
it feels like I never would,
I feel pressed against a wall,
I never dreamed about this all.
------------------------------------
Now that they are angels,
with wings of flight so true,
the only question left,
is what`s gonna happen to you?
------------------------------------
for now my heart aches,
it seems this should all be a fake,
but I feel this loss so true,
but I don't feel it like you.
I am sorry.

It's been several years since we've spoken. We were neighbors on Columbine, (my daughters are Kendra and Courtney Hillman). I remember Kevin and Cody fondly. They are beautiful boys. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My heart broke when I heard what had happened. I remember what an amazing mother you were with the boys. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you.

Dear Jeanette -
I have not met you, nor you me. I do not know your boys, Cody and Kevin. But I know what it is to love a son, and my heart is heavy for you at this difficult time. If prayer matters, and I know that it does, please know that mine are with you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss, but happy that you had the time you did with Kevin and Cody. Knowing them, loving them, teaching them. Your boys - they will be your boys forever.
I wish you Godspeed.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Here are some of the poems I wrote....I hope you like them<3
I didn't believe it at first
only because it hurt
now i have to live with the pain,
and it just happened to rain
it seems so real
because it is
its only a blur
only a fizz
-------
I feel really bad
it should've never begun
I miss him a lot
I miss him a ton
now he's gone.
never coming back
I wish you could pin it to a board,
just like a tack.
----------
Angels from above
swoop him away
I don't know what to do
don't know what to say
he's going through my mind,
time to time,
his voice fades away
just like a chime.
----------
Cody and Kevin Christopher
Lived once
Never again
I don't know how,
you just don't understand.
