Daisy Walsh Obituary
Daisy Walsh, 83 years old, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away on March 21, 2012. She was born in Covington County, Alabama on August 28, 1928. She was an extraordinary seamstress who retired from Gerber Products Company after 27 years of service. Daisy is now with her parents, Ira Pickron and Callie Harrison Pickron; and siblings, Idell Harrelson, MaeBelle Colgin, Mavis Velasquez, Ivory Pickron, and David Pickron in heaven. Happily married for 61 years, Daisy is survived by her husband, Ivan "Jim" Walsh; daughters, Sherry Dale Walsh and Terry Lynn Walsh Malcolm; sister, Mary Lois Pratt; brother-in-law, W. Scotty Pratt; sisters-in-law, Bettye Ann Lolley Pickron, Kay Ann Waites, and Honey Walsh (husband, Jim Foulk); son-in-law, James A. Malcolm; four grandchildren, Shanna Lynn Walsh Laborde (husband, Craig Stephen Laborde), Christopher John Escobedo, Jamie Diane Huerta (husband, Abel S. Huerta, III), and Bobbi Jo Malcolm Rubright; eight great grandchildren, Chad Stephen Laborde, Colin Stephen Laborde, Cade Stephen Laborde, Alex Santiago Huerta, Naomi Nicole Huerta, Juliana Lynn Huerta, Jacob Rubright and Shane Rubright; and an abundance of extended family and friends. The visitation and memorial service will be held at Rose Lawn Funeral Home, Gulf Breeze, Florida on Monday, March 26, 2012 by Rev. Greg Pyle of Midway Baptist Church. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association's Go Red For Women initiative. Arrangements entrusted to Rose Lawn Funeral Home of Gulf Breeze. I met Daisy years ago when I was caring for her mother, Ms. Pickron at Santa Rosa Medical Center. Daisy and I exchanged Christmas cards for several years, always telling each other we would get together. I am so sorry we lost track of each other. Finding out this way, that she lived just "down the road" makes me sad that we did not keep in touch. I still live in Bagdad. I will always remember her as a beautiful and loving lady.
