Daniel R. Saewert, 76, of Scottsdale, Arizona, went home to be with the Lord on December 20, 2004. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and served in the Navy during WWII. He later went on to earn his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin, and moved to Arizona in 1956. He worked as an engineer for Motorola for 32 years until his retirement in 1988. He found great purpose in his loving devotion to Joyce, his beloved bride of 54 years. He is also survived by a sister, Joan Kremers of North Adams, MA; son Mark Saewert (Dorothy) of Flemington, NJ, daughter Karen Saewert of Phoenix, son David Saewert (Patty) of Chandler, 'virtual daughter' Cindy Cruz of Phoenix; and his 4 grandchildren: Jacob, Michel, Amanda, Stephen. He was preceded in death by his brother, David. While at Motorola he was awarded membership in the Motorola Scientific and Technical Society for Technical Contribution to the Motorola Government Electronics Group. He was an amateur radio operator, call sign N7DS, and held an Extra Class license for nearly 40 years. His loving memory will forever remain alive in our hearts until we see him again. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at Pilgrim Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3257 E. University Dr., Mesa, AZ. I was a friend of Dan Saewert when he worked for Motorola. I worked for him writing documents for a short time when I got to know Dan quite well. He was a "peach" of a boss and wrote a very kind letter when I went on to another assignment. I'm sure many will miss him greatly.
