Reiff, David Samuel
David Reiff of Phoenix, Arizona entered into his heavenly father's home on March 12, 2014 at the age of 80 after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. David was born May 15, 1933 in Rocky Ford, Colorado. He grew up in Garden City, Kansas and graduated from Garden City High School and Junior College where he was in the marching band, concert band, choir and barbershop quartet. His career in the printing industry began at the age of 15 operating printing presses for the Garden City Daily Telegram newspaper. In 1953, David married his high school sweetheart Joyce Janice (Southworth). After college, he worked as a commercial print shop manager at the High Plains Journal in Dodge City, Kansas. He moved his family to Phoenix in 1958 when a friend landed him a job at Standard Printing. Within a few years, David and a business partner purchased Allied Printing. In 1967 he launched Dave Reiff Printing which was a family operated commercial printing and graphic-arts business in Phoenix for 38 years. The Phoenix Chamber of Commerce awarded him the Small Business Person of the Year Award for Response to Adversity in 1996. He was recognized as an esteemed businessman and was active in community organizations including Christian Business men's Connection, West Phoenix Rotary Club and Toastmasters. David was a man of faith, devoted to God, his family and his country. He served as a board member, finance committee member, Sunday school teacher, solo and quartet performer at local churches including East Side Nazarene, Biltmore Nazarene, Monte Vista and Glendale Nazarene. He was a talented artist whose oil paintings were reproduced on commercial calendars and selected for the cover of a graphic arts magazine. He loved spending time at his beautiful home in the mountains where generations of family have fond memories of holidays and gatherings. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank Willard Reiff and Anna Edna (Overholt) and his two sisters; Arlene (Reiff) Haddow and Lucy (Reiff) Crenshaw. David is survived by his wife Joyce and his four sons; Steve (Joyce), Randy (Marilyn), Gregory (Jacque), Terry (Amy), nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. David was a beloved husband, father and grandfather and he will be cherished in our hearts forever. The family greatly appreciates the wonderful care provided by Candace, his caregiver, and the staff of Hospice of the Valley. A memorial service will be held at Glendale Nazarene Church, 5902 W Cactus Rd, Glendale, AZ 85304 on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 11:00am, with a one hour visitation prior to the service. I was fortunate to be blessed with such a wonderful father-in-law! David touched the lives of so many people in the community as well as his family through his quiet but unmistakable leadership as a man of God. He inspired his family by following his dreams, showing unconditional love and truly appreciating life. We miss him and his smile, but we are comforted knowing he is no longer suffering and we will see him again someday!

From the Lerma family.. Peter & I got to know Mr. Reiffs thru church at Glendale NAZ & we also got involved with a program called Healthy for life with Marilyn & Randy Reiff .. That is when we got to know him a little bit more on a personnel level. I think one of the things that stands out to me the most is that he to me was a very humble man and truly he reflected a man of God. He and his wife were the kind of servants that weren't out for rewards from people, but mainly total servants of our Awesome God... He will be missed here on earth, but our Heavenly Father has gained a New Saint... Praying that the family can feel the Lords comfort in these days as they go thru the grieving process.
