Dean Curry Obituary

Curry, Dean Morgan
Born on September 15, 1981 in Flagstaff Arizona, Dean Morgan Curry took God's hand and returned home on May 19, 2013. He had a deep passion for people, music and computers, and dedicated himself to a very successful career specializing in computer information security. At the age of 13, Dean began his college studies, and at the age of 14, he became the youngest Certified Novell Administrator (CNA) and at 15, the youngest Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) in the world. While in high school, Dean studied Mathematics and Physics at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. He also played the clarinet in several youth symphony orchestras through high school. After graduating from Bradshaw Mountain High School in Prescott Arizona in 2000, Dean was offered full-ride scholarships from prestigious universities, but instead took a job as an operations engineer with a Fortune 100 company in Washington D.C. Dean's work assignments took him to many exciting places, including Hong Kong, China. Dean's intense quest for knowledge never stopped, and at the age of 30, he maintained over 13 highly specialized and advanced certifications in his career field. He is survived by his parents, Robert Dean and Sharon J. Curry, his brother Drew (Serena) Curry, and nephews, Austin and Tanner Curry. He is also survived by his granddad Dean B. Curry and grandmother Carol J. Herrin, as well as many uncles, aunts and cousins. He will be dearly missed by family, friends and colleagues who loved and respected him. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at First United Methodist Church located at 15 E. First Avenue, Mesa, AZ 85210

Dean Morgan Curry: So humble and unassuming that almost no one on Earth knew how brilliant his mind was. But God knows and Dean's loving and caring intelligence and good nature will be be something we'll all become accustomed to and get to know well in Heaven.

No matter which day I talked to Dean my entire life, I can close my eyes and see the same spirited and warm smile and soul through any successes or even challenges he might have been having any day I spoke to him.

I can remember so vividly asking him to explain what he did in his various information technology and networking jobs he had starting at such a young age in the workforce. Like he did with everyone he talked to, I think he knew I didn't totally understand, but he gave me more credit than I deserved, and patiently walked through "what a day at work for Dean" consisted of...It truly reinforced my thoughts about his humble intelligence.

Dean's brilliance vectored in the right direction at the right time could have led him to become one of the greatest networking engineers of his generation. I so wish I would have spent more time with Dean. I'll make up for it when we talk in Heaven.
