Dean Hermanson Obituary
Hello. My name is Dean Hermanson. I wanted to send you this passing note (no pun intended) as a last farewell. I was born in North Dakota on February 26, 1951 to Glenn and Lila. I have 3 wonderful brothers: Gary (Mesa, AZ), Ardell (deceased), and Merlyn (Danville, VA). I completed a doctorate degree at the University of North Dakota in 1995. The focus was on the administration of community colleges--which eventually brought us to Scottsdale in 1997. I have a wonderful wife, Cathy. We married in October 1972. She is a very special person. We have two children, Jace and Kelly, who I am extremely proud of, I had not planned on leaving quite this soon. I just retired in 2013. If I had only had the colonoscopy sooner. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 10 AM at Messinger Indian School Mortuary.

I miss my uncle Dean so much & think about him all the time. He was so generous, thoughtful & funny, & always made me feel so welcomed when I would stay with him & Cathy. Am so blessed to have had him in my life & as part of our family.

I am sincerely sorry for your loss Hermanson family. I had the privilege of working for him at SCC. I couldn't have asked for a better boss. He was supportive, patient, kind, funny and real. Some of my fondest memories were working with him. I'm so sorry for his passing. I sure hope there's some big fish to catch in heaven...here's to great fishing stories and a good man.

I was so blessed to have Dean as my uncle. He was a wonderful, fun, generous man who always made me feel so welcomed when visiting my "Arizona family." My favorite moments were just sitting on the back patio with him, talking about politics, sports and life in general. I miss him with all my heart, and will keep those memories with me and cherish them forever. I love you, Dean.
