Dede Wathey Obituary
Bernadette "Dede" Vanyo Wathey, 49, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2010, at home with her family in Phoenix. She was a beautiful lady, wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She battled pancreatic cancer with courage and trusted in God's plan for her life. She will be remembered for her beautiful blue eyes, a fun-loving attitude and a magnetic personality. Professionally, she was known for the great work she did in the media and advertising business. She leaves behind her loving husband, Drew, and her two beautiful children, Kevin and Lauren. Dede is survived by her mother, Janie Vanyo, her sister, Nancy Vanyo Etchart, her brother, Dooley Vanyo and her beloved nieces and nephew. Dede will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held at Desert Springs Bible Church on Thursday, December 30th at 11am located at 16215 N. Tatum Blvd., Phx. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to an education fund set up for Dede's children at Bank of America, Paradise Valley Mall branch, 13008 N. Tatum Blvd. Phoenix. Drew and Family: I was devastated to hear the news that Dede was diagnosed with cancer. I worked with her at KTAR and stayed in touch with when we both left the station. She spoke of you all often. Dede was an "amazing" young women and I know her memory, as well as spirit will live one in all us.

Dede was part of the old gang - "the homies". She will be missed! I am so very sorry for such a great loss. Many will attend her service to honor this beautiful woman. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.
