Denise Stout Obituary
47, of Gilbert, passed away Monday, August 3, 2010 after a courageous 2 year battle with ovarian cancer. Denise was born Feb. 8, 1963, in Brainerd, MN, to Alfred and Gladys Kinney. Denise was in the 1981 graduating class of Brainerd High School. She received her BSN from Harding University in Searcy, AR in 1984. She went on to earn an MEd. from Harding University in 1994. Denise married Kelly Stout of Chandler, AZ in 1984. Denise's career was spent in adolescent psychology, teaching nursing, and medical research. She spent the last 4 years as a Clinical Study Manager at Medicis in Scottsdale, AZ. She was a faithful child of God and an active member of the Tempe Church of Christ. She loved teaching children Sunday school, praising God in song and participating in house building mission trips to Mexico. Her greatest joy was being a wife and mother. Denise is survived by her husband, Kelly; one son, Jacob; her mother, Gladys Kinney of Brainerd, MN; two brothers, Larry (Diana)Kinney and Gary Kinney of Brainerd MN; two sisters, Sandy (Ron)Barnett of Pillager, MN and Mary (Dean)Wigen of Willmar, MN; numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws both in Minnesota and Arizona. She is preceded in death by her father, Alfred Kinney and one brother Arnold (Kathy) Kinney both of Brainerd, MN. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Tempe Church of Christ Mexico Mission fund. A viewing will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday, August 6 at Tempe Church of Christ, 2424 S. Mill Ave. Tempe, AZ, 85282. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday August 7, also at Tempe Church of Christ. The funeral service will be simulcast at Brenney Funeral Home, Baxter MN at 1:00 pm go to www.litehousellc.net, password dms. Bueler Mortuary

Denise was one of my first friends freshman year at Harding University. We shared the same dorm and same classes as we pursued our BSN. Denise randomly pops up in my thoughts and memories! She was a joy to know and work with! I was thrilled when she taught in the college of nursing and our friendship picked up where it left off after graduation. I wish she could see how the nursing program has grown and the awesome building, labs, and simulation center the Carr College of Nursing has been blessed with since 2014. Denise was a blessing in my life and I smile when she pops up randomly in my thoughts!

Kelly and Jake,
I am sorry that this is so late but I was unable to attend Denise's service as i was working. I knew Denise through Radiant research and found it such a pleasure to work with her. Altho She was my boss at Radiant, she always worked with us. I extend my sympathy to you both as I know that she is sorely missed. She was indeed a bright star on earth and certainly will be an even brighter star now. I miss her and her easy manner and friendlly sincere and authentic self that she shared with us. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know how special you both were to her.

Denise, you are one of the nicest persons that I grew up with. I went to Baxter elementary with you, rode horses at your parent’s home and was in your Brainerd graduating class of 1981. Truly a one-of-a-kind person. Although I knew Denise for only a short time, she made an indelible impression on me, as she no doubt did on so many. I will remember her for her beautiful demenaor, quiet grace, and humble heart. God bless you, Denise!
