Wow! I didnt know about this till today! I am a Chittick descendent (John W Chittick and Mary Funsten) .... exchanged emails a few years back when I started my genealogy journey ... I had tried to send an email to the www.chittick.com site to try and update and add missing family genealogy .. and the email bounced back (so did Kyle's) and so I reached out to a 3rd cousin and she told me that Denny had died ... wow .. so sorry to hear this!

May God rest your soul, Mr. Chiddik. We need more people like you on earth. People who do good business, in good faith and have such good conscience. I, like many others, only know you from a story. May your soul be elevated. I’m planting a tree in your name here in California.

I just saw a story about Denny, sadly I never met him in person! What an amazing person! As I type this there are tears in my eyes. Denny loved his family and was a truly great man. And even though I never met him my heart is so sad. Rest In Peace.

I spoke with Denny about 14 years ago when I discovered the Chittick.com website. I was living in Phoenix at the time and wanted to submit some information about my Chittick family line. I am a descendant of Henry Chittick and my father was Joseph Echlin Chittick. Although I did not know him personally, I sure admired the effort he put into the website. I am just learning of his passing today. Rest in peace Denny, I sure wish that I would met with you when we lived just miles apart.

I am belatedly learning of the passing of such a great mentor and inspiration in my business and personal life, and mourn the passing of Denny. He gave me a chance on a whim phone call I made to him one day about a property poorly managed, to change it, and ultimately a large portion of his defaulted properties into saleable properties, which in turn, springboarded me into an ultimately late career choice, but a successful one, of which I owe in large part to him. His values, his ethics, his family were all examples of how every single person should hold their lives to each day. And for that, I mourn the passing of a great human being. I shall continue to operate my daily life befitting of the values Denny passed on to me. As little as they were.

I am ashamed to say I stumbled across this - Denny and I connected through his drive to find all the Chitticks' in the world! Never knew him save for a few email exchanges as our children entered the world at similar times.
Sad to have found this but heartened to have been able to assist in his project.

Denny insisted on lending me the money to pay for my future wifes engagement ring. I remember back in 1991 when he and Richie decided to try out the new tasers on each other, so funny! Many wonderful memories he gave me.

Denny was a very important person in my life. We became friends our sophomore year of high school and remained close throughout the years. We wrote letters back and forth all through college and when I got my first teaching job, he came to be a guest speaker to my middle schoolers teaching them about education, finance, and hard work. For the last 10 years on his birthday I would call him and my primary students would sing to him. He was an encourager, a kind hearted man, a funny man who loved his family very very much. I will miss you every single day. Thank you for a rich friendship. ~Michelle Sackman Emra
