It's been 18 years since you left. I made it my goal to pray for you every night for one whole year and I did it. You would be so proud of Jacob. He graduated from GCU this year and is now interning at GCU. We miss you Duane and hope you are flying with the angels.

Big Dawg Duane, my Homie. I met him at Intel as well as many others, but he was one of the first people to greet me. I still remeber what he ask 'wassup dude, welcome to Intel, how old are U?' I responded and said I was 19 and he started yelling to everyone 'fresh meat, freah meat, we got a teenager in the team'. He also got me plaing soccer with the silver bullets and also went on a trip to Mexico Puerto Penasco. Man I got a lot of great memories with him and will never forget him nor anything we did together. Hope your at ease Bro and know that you will never be forgotten.....

I first met Duane in 1992 he was the typical teenager picking on his big sister hanging out with his friend Joe. He was a great brother in law and a great uncle to my sons Nicholas and Michael. I see alot of Duane in my son Michael, as the boys idolized their Uncle, and he will always be remembered and the time in Big Bear when Nicholas fell in the mud while Duane recorded it on video. They say out of every darkness there is light. This past weekend I got to spend time with Duane's brother, stepmom and other family members. I realized we should have all spent more time together as a family. When I listened to the priest say that Duane had come to know God's love it reminded me that I have been slipping away from the church and from the charity work I used to do. I personally will find renewed life in losing Duane. I will give more of my time to God, charity and my family. Life is to short to take it for granted. I have felt more pain and grief from losing Duane then anyone I know maybe because we all wish we could have been there for him. Duane was my son in law. He is the father of my most precious grandson. Jacob is the spitting image of his father and I hope he will grow up to be as loving and caring as Duane. Duane, you have touched many hearts and lives and you will be forever missed.I pray that you are soaring with the angels and watching out for all of us who love you.

I met Duane in 5th grade. We were desk buddies at the time. We would reconnect in high school, and again in College at ITT. Duane was in his 7th quarter when I was a freshman. It was awesome to see a familiar face at a time when things are new and unfamiliar. Duane was also one of the first strong supporters of my band. I remember being up til the wee hours of the morning burning CDs at Duane's cause he was the only one that had a CD burner at the time. He was a great friend and he was not on this earth nearly long enough. My deepest sympathies and sincerest condolences are with Duane's family and friends throughout this difficult time. I take solace in the fact that Duane has found peace in heaven.

I met Duane on the soccer field and although I didn't play on the team this year was around when Duane first started playing on the team. I remember saying to myself, "What a genuine, honest, happy young man!" It is obvious that Duane left something for us all and I will remember most his little boy smile. Prayers are being said for the family he leaves behind.

Duane. I remember him as a little boy, running around the cabin in Big Bear, or playing in the Grandparent's house in Torrance. There was no blood relation, but he was some of the closest family I had growing up. Paul and Cleo were Grandma and Grandpa, Carol was Aunt Carol, and Bonnie and Duane and I grew up together. I have many solid memories that I will cherish forever. Throughout the years that he lived in Arizona, I saw him less frequently, usually only seeing him at the traditional Easter get-togethers. And he'd kick my butt at Rummikub every time. For all of you that knew him well as an adult, I'd like to let you know that I grew up with Duane and watched him mature into a fine young man. You all honored him well at the Arizona services. Aunt Geri and I were blessed to have been able to attend to witness the love felt for him. All we can do now is try to leave a legacy for ourselves that would make him proud. I'm proud of his.

When I first met Duane it was on the soccer field with the Silver Bullets a few years ago. He was new to soccer, but made up for it with heart, athleticism and perseverance. He always played with joy and a smile, and no matter the outcome, Duane had played his hardest, and was ready for the next challenge. My thoughts and prayers go out to Duane and his family. May you find peace during this difficult time.

My deepest most sincere sympathies go out to Duane's family. He was a life that went out sooner than expected. Duane and I had some pretty good gut wrenching laughs at work that made my stomach muscles hurt. I will remember the great unconditionally giving person that he was.

When I came to Intel Fab12, Duane was my 1st trainer. I found him to be a kind, patient mild mannered man. And even when I came over to Fab 22 after he did, he would often take time out of his busy day to help me & my area with issues that we would have. He is a very nice man that I will truly miss. My thoughts & prayers are with you all who enjoyed him as a family member or called him friend.

He was so humble, I hope he can read all these messages up in heaven and know how deeply he was loved. My life will never be the same without him, but I would never trade what we had although it was not long enough. He has taught me and my daughter the true defenition of love.

As coach of the Silver Bullets team, which Duane played on for several years, I was proud to have him as a teammate. His loss is hard to come to terms with. He was an excellent player, person and friend. He was also the most improved player on our team providing an impenetrable defense on the back line - he was truly a force to be reckonded with! We will all miss him terribly.
