Edgar Hash Obituary
of Phoenix, AZ passed away on April 6, 2011. He was born May 18, 1921 in Phoenix to Edgar Hash and Mary (Funston) Hash. He served as a company commander in the US Army during WWII and the Korean War. Edgar received a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1946 at Texas Tech and his law degree in 1955 at the University of Arizona. He practiced law more than 50 years and served as judge Pro-Tem. He was an active pilot for 62 years and a member of the International Flying Farmers, Sheriffs Air Posse, Kiwanis and many other orgs. Edgar is preceded in death by his sister Virginia and is survived by his wife Elaine, daughter Deborah White (Earl), son Edgar B (Kimberley); and three grandchildren, Heather Rivera (Marco), Cory Hathaway and Amanda Hash. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 15 at 2 PM, Living Streams Church, 7000 N Central Ave., Phoenix

Ed,
I’m so sorry to hear of your recent loss. You’ve certainly been in my thoughts and I hope you are doing as well as possible.
I know that every relationship is unique, but I have a sense that your relationship with your father was not much different than my own. I am proud to say that my Dad was truly a friend and we shared a great deal together, including a passion for aviation. My dad died three and a half years ago. My own experience is that as the days, weeks and months go by, a great deal of the pain is replaced by fond memories and that when I think of him, a smile is a more frequent reaction than tears. When the raw emotion comes to the surface, which it occasionally still does, it feels good because I know I have not forgotten how important he remains to me.
Take care, and I wish the best for you and your family during this challenging period.

Ed will be missed by his long-time friends and associates in the Arizona Flying Farmers. His service to the organization is legendary. We will all miss Ed. No one loved flying more than he did.

I knew Edgar when I was a young lawyer with Snell & Wilmer in the old Security Building. He was a fine lawyer and a good man. I often saw him at the Lawyer's Club for lunch.
May the many memories he helped create find root in your hearts and bring sweet recollection to your minds as you both mourn and celebrate his life.
