Edward Duranczyk Obituary

Duranczyk, Edward A.
86, of Sun Lakes, AZ, went home to his heavenly father on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. Ed grew up in a Polish neighborhood on Chicago's southside. He served in the U.S. Navy for two years. Ed's love of sports earned him a basketball scholarship from Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington. His favorite hobbies included tennis, travel, and playing cards. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara (Rusnak); five children: Denise Duranczyk (Bob Komes), Edward Duranczyk Jr., Michael Duranczyk, Sandy Fontana (Ray), and Mark Duranczyk; and eight grandchildren: Kevin (Theresa), Jeff (Stephanie), Annalise, Ryan, Ed III, Jake, Mike Jr., and Mia. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 am Thurs, Mar. 27, at St Steven's Catholic Church in Sun Lakes, with mass to follow at 10 am. Interment will follow at National Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, Ed's family suggests donations to St. Steven's Church, 24827 S. Dobson Rd., Sun Lakes, AZ 85248, or to Arizona Humane Society, 1521 W. Dobbins Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85041 (602-997-7586)
